1. Cosmic Rays to Climate Change
Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark proposes that our climate is linked more closely to solar cycles than is currently believed by mainstream climate science. He describes a link between solar activity variations, cloud formation and ultimately temperature variations on Earth.
If Svensmark’s theory were to be correct, the likelihood is that the next few decades will be cold which of course is completely at odds with the greenhouse gas theory of climate control.
‘‘I pick it up on my radio equipment. There is something going on with the sun. Right now the sun has gone dead. There is no more solar cycle which is going to have profound implications… people will be begging for Global Warming. It’s gonna get really cold. And humans are just gonna turn into animals…’’ Eric Dollard on THC, Oct 2019
2. Is Greenhouse Theory based on a Botched Experiment?
The research that I put into this article has probably changed how I view the theory more than any other that I’ve written.
The article describes a potential ‘blind spot’ in the analysis of greenhouse gases’ ability to ‘absorb’ radiation. To illustrate the point I went back to the first ever such experiment undertaken by Irish physicist, John Tyndall, in 1859.
I question whether Tyndall’s experiment actually demonstrated the newly discovered ‘greenhouse effect’, as was claimed, or in fact the already well-established ‘thermoelectric properties’ of certain gases.
‘The entire paradigm of modern day Climate Change, and all the societal cost that comes with it, rests on the assumption that the greenhouse theory is ‘correct’, and therefore by extension on the observations first made by Tyndall in his famous 19th Century experiment.’ TC
3. Abiotic Oil
With thousands of views so far, this has been my most widely read piece to date. It seems there is quite an interest in alternative oil formation theories!
I came across the work of a Swedish-based, Russian geologist, Vladimir Kutcherov, who has simulated an inorganic process that occurs naturally in the inner layers of the Earth. This process generates hydrocarbons, the primary component in coal, oil and natural gas.
Many believe the abiotic oil theory can better explain features of oil formation than can it’s fossil-based alternative such as the reservoir depth problem, reservoir recharge phenomenon, and the presence of non-sedimentary reservoirs.
If oil and gas does not require the slow decomposition of organic material over millions of years, the idea of relatively endless reserves found much more widely around the world becomes a tantalizing possibility...
4. RELAX, The Great Barrier Reef is FINE!
Some people just don’t like good news!
The devastation of Australia’s wondrous Great Barrier Reef perhaps epitomizes the so-called ‘climate catastrophe’ more than any other natural disaster.
Back in July of 2022 The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) published a report that confirmed the presence of record levels of coral coverage across much of the Great Barrier Reef! Hard coral cover increased by more than a third in two of three areas.
The results showed a rebound in the overall state of the reef following a number of unusually close-together bleaching events in recent years.
Such resilience certainly came as a surprise to many with some refusing to accept it as good news! One seemingly disappointed commentator claimed that a lack of diversity in the type of recovered coral meant that celebration was misplaced!
5. Oil from the Heavens
This article continued the theme of alternative oil formation theories. Drawing from the work of dissident scientist and historian Imanuel Velikovsky I presented accounts from different cultures around the world telling of a cataclysmic event around the time of the Exodus, some 3-5,000 years ago.
In this particular event, hydrocarbons were believed to have formed in the tail of a comet that came into close proximity with the Earth which ultimately fell from the sky as a ‘fire rain’.
Along with mass death and destruction, the burning liquid that fell down upon various parts of the planet (many of which are now well-known oil producing regions) may well have settled deep underground, waiting to be utilized my mankind many millennia later.
‘‘Into the heights rose man and he accomplished the age-old dream of flying like a bird: for this too, he uses remnants of the intruding star that poured fire and sticky vapor upon his ancestors.’’ Imanuel Velikovsky
6. Weather Reviews
An imbalance in weather reporting has, in my opinion, reinforced the impression that we are accelerating headlong and irreversibly towards a cow-fart and coal-induced climate catastrophe. So, as with all of my seasonal weather reviews, I focus on cold weather events from around the world.
I write a seasonal weather review with around 30-50 selected examples in each. Here is but a small slice of the kind of benchmarks that have been set during a cold and snowy 2022.
Reporting on the winter of 2021/22:
‘‘65 participants took part on the ‘Pole of Cold Marathon’ race in Siberia this January during -53 Celsius conditions, confirming it’s place in the Guinness Book of Records as the World’s coldest ever race!’’
Reporting on spring, 2022:
‘‘The French-Italian Antarctic Station Concordia registered a low of -79.3 Celsius on April 16, which was just 2.5 Celsius off the planet’s coldest April temperature EVER RECORDED!’’
From the summer review, 2022:
‘‘Greenland experienced A RECORD-BREAKING 7 GIGATON ICE GAIN - THE LARGEST EVER summer daily gain on record’’
From the autumn review, 2022:
‘‘Antarctica; Both the South Pole Station and Vostok registered their coldest Novembers in 35 years at -40.4 Celsius and -44.3 Celsius, respectively.’’
Onward and Upwards!
I hope you enjoyed my small selection of Atlas Report articles from 2022.
Have a prosperous (and skeptical) 2023!
